The Odisha government has formed a new Committee to manage the transfers and postings of Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), Assistant Commandants, and Additional Superintendents of Police. This decision shifts supervisory powers from the Director General of Police (DGP) to the Home Department. The Committee, chaired by the Additional Chief Secretary or Principal Secretary of the Home Department, will also handle appeals related to transfers and postings.
