Odisha: More Women Appeared in Basic Literacy Examination held at Bilabadi

Report by Odisha Diary bureau, Kandhamal: A total of 170 women and men appeared for the basic literacy assessment test helds under Central Govt sponsored Saakshar Bharat Scheme in the Sansad  adapted village Bilabadi panchayat of the Kandhamal district on 20th March.  More of the women appeared in the examination are  from  agriculture worker and  have their NREGS  cardholder.
The Saakshar Bharat , is an adult literacy programme focus for women in the age group of above 15 and is under implementation in the Bilabadi Panchayat of Khajuripada block of Kandhamal and other 18 discrict in the state under the women  literacy was less than 50 percent as per 2001 census.
The examination was held from 10 a.m. to 5.p.m and the candidates were allowed to write the examination for three fours at a time suitable to them
The National Institute of Opening  Schooling ( NIOS)  and the National Literacy Mission, on behalf of HRD  department, (MHRD)  conduct examination to access the basic literacy talent of the learner admitted to the literacy centre and  for neo-literate.
Under the leadership of  Mr. Sudhananda Parida, DEO, Kandhamal,  visited Phringia block which a special team consist of  Mr. Kartikeswar Lenka, ADEO, Kandhamal who in charge of Saaskhar Bharat programme, Mr. Laxmidhar Behera, ADEO , visited Bilabadi panchayat centre and other various examination centre of G.Udayagiri block for smooth conduct of the examination. From the District Eduction office sources, around twenty one thousand  people more percentage of women appeared in the basic literacy examination held in the different panchayat of Kandhamal district.
