Cuttack: Odisha Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water, Law, Housing & Urban Development Minister Pratap Jena visits SCB hospital in #Cuttack to take stock of the health condition of separated conjoined twins Jaga & Kalia; informs Jaga can go to school only after skull transplant while Kalia’s condition is yet to improve .

Jaga would undergo a skull transplant surgery during the present course of his treatment, informed Law Minister Pratap Jena here on Sunday.

A skull would be brought from a bone bank to conduct the transplant on Jaga, he said after meeting both Jaga and Kalia at the SCB Medical College Hospital.

The Government would provide all assistance for the skull transplant surgery, he said.

While Jaga is doing well, his sibling Kalia’s health condition is yet to be normal. However, efforts are on to give them the best treatment for improving their conditions, Jena told reporters.

When asked about a proposal on enrolling Jaga at a school for studies, he said, “Jaga does not have a proper skull on his head. He is wearing a helmet for protection. After successfully undergoing a skull transplant surgery, he can go to school.”
