Bhubaneswar: Migratory birds have started arriving at Chilika, Asia’s largest brackish water lagoon.
Despite heat in the lake where the temperature was recorded between 30 and 32 degree Celsius in couple of days, the alien birds were found flying over the Chilika sky during this autumn season.
Among the winged guests, black headed genre birds from Ladakh have landed in different locations of the lake. Besides, varieties of birds are also spotted in the lake’s Mangalajodi, Nalabana island. They are found looking for food in other parts of the lake. Normally, the migratory birds use to flock to the Chilika in the first week of October. However, an early arrival of the birds to the lagoon is good news for bird lovers.
