Cuttack: The closing day that was set to conclude the successful two-day National Conference took place at 11am on 15th December’ 2017 in the premises of Sri Sri University. This Valedictory session was chaired by Chief Guest, Shri Ananta Das, Hon’ble Minister of Higher Education, Govt. of Odisha and Guest of Honour, Mr. Niten Chandra, IAS, Principal Secretary, SSEPD, Govt. of Odisha.
National Conference “Happiness @ Workplace” aimed at nurturing the happiness quotient at workplace, discoursing about the ethical issues, determining the best HR practices for the engagement of the employees. This conference not just benefitted the delegates but the society as a whole. It witnessed entrepreneurs, technocrats as well as students from all over the country. It aimed at setting up a foundation for a content society leading to happiness at workplace. The delegates got the opportunity to learn the management practices from the best academicians and gain knowledge from the most experienced industry leaders from all over the country. This national conference was one of its kind as its objective was not only to train and impart management related knowledge to its delegate members but it also helped them get a better and happier vision for life which will directly impact the productivity at workplace. This endeavour proved to be fruitful to the society and mankind at large and has succeeded in conveying the need of the hour- Happy and contented minds will give rise to a happy and sustainable workplace.
The other dignitaries who graced the closing ceremony of National Conference “Happiness @ Workplace” included Mrs. Rajita Kulkarni, President Sri Sri University, Prof. (Dr.) Nand Lal, Vice-Chancellor, Sri Sri University, Mr. Narendra Lamba, Director Operations, Sri Sri University and Prof. Dr. P. Srinivas Subbarao, Conference Convener, Dean of Faculty of Commerce and Management Studies and Student Welfare.
The second day started off with four technical sessions which intended at conveying techniques to curb stress at workplace and inculcating a spiritual, sustainable and happy business environment. The chairpersons of the technical sessions included renowned and experieneced dignitaries namely, Mr. Vinod Menon, Sr. Corporate Trainer at Art of Living, Mr. S.C. Choudhary, IRS, Former Chief Commissioner, Customs and Central Exercise Chairman, SEEDS India, Prof. Dr. Prabhat Kumar Mohanty, Utkal University and, Ms. Mukul Rastogi, Head HR & CSR, ITC, New Delhi.
The Valedictory event started off at 4pm in the evening with the words from Prof. (Dr.) Nand Lal, Vice Chancellor, Sri Sri University where he spoke about the grand success of the conference.
Shri Ananta Das then took the floor and explained the importance of happiness in a person’s life and that how without sorrow there is no happiness. He also appreciated Sri Sri University’s remarkable growth in the field of imparting education to students from different diversities and exclaimed that this university will very soon become a pioneer in bringing a spiritual edge to the educational streams.
Finally, the ceremony concluded with a Vote of Thanks proposed by Prof. Dr. P. Srinivas Subabarao to the dignitaries and speakers for gracing the event with their presence and words of wisdom. He also showed sincere gratitude to the delegates, invitees and the entire team and fraternity behind the successfulconference.
