Odisha govt transfers Rs 1272 crore to the accounts of 53 lakh small & marginal farmers & landless labourers under the KALIA scheme

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today through Video Conference, disbursed KALIA assistance to the tune of Rs. 1272 Cr. to 53 Lakh farmers of the State @Rs.2000/- and reiterated his hope that the income of the farmer will be enhanced. “I want that farmers of my State must get fair price for their produce and leave life with dignity’, he said.
Chief Minister while describing agriculture as main force of our economy said that development in agriculture sector has been possible due the courage and hard work of our farmers. Hon’ble Chief Minister offered his respect for the dedication and labour of the farmers in this regard. He further said that State Government has taken various steps to strengthen the marketing infrastructure for agricultural produce.
Chief Minister also hoped that farmers of the State shall avail various agri-related facilities provided by the Government and help to carry forward the development of the State. Chief Minister also discussed with some farmers present in different districts regarding ‘KALIA assistance’. The farmers expressed their gratitude to Chief Minister, saying that they have been benefited through KALIA scheme.
Minister , Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Sri Arun Kumar Sahoo, Chief Secretary Sri Suresh Chandra Mohapatra, APC Sri R.K. Sharma, Principal Secretary, Agriculture Sri Saurabh Garg along with the Principal Secretaries and Secretaries of different Departments were present in the programme while Secretary to Hon’ble Chief Minister (5-T) Sri V.K. Pandian moderated.
