Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik reviewed drinking water supply siatuation in urban areas and directed to ensure 100% supply to all households and increase in per head drinking water supply in cities and towns to 70 litres by March, 2019.
Highlights of the review:
· 760 projects worth ₹3596 crore active in urban areas for drinking water supply
· 1869 PVC Tanks and 219 mobile water tanks serving 422 water scarcity areas in 185 wards of 24 cities.
· Ward-level Committee engaged to ensure smooth supply of drinking water
· 24-hour Control Room and periodic reviews for redressing water supply related grievances
Chief Minister Shri Patnaik directed Housing & Urban Development Department to initiate door-to-door campaign for ensuring every household in cities have access to piped drinking water supply.
