Bhubaneswar: The State Government is mulling a plan to build multistoried quarters by razing the existing structures at the MLA Colony here.
The matter was discussed at a meeting chaired by Assembly Speaker Surjya Narayan Patro here recently. Patro directed the Chief Engineer (Building) to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) on the proposal.
According to reports, the Government is planning to demolish over 60 single-storey quarters at the MLA Colony and to build new multi-storey quarters there.
The new quarters will be constructed in model of DS quarters (double-storey building) built at MLA Colony near the Unit-IV market. The five-room quarters will have elevators and lobby. The area will be renovated having parks, cafeteria, swimming pool and gym centre. Besides, each quarter will have conference hall.
