Bhubaneswar: Odisha State Handloom Weavers Coop. Society Ltd. popularly known as BOYANIKA, the only Apex Society of the State is organizing the “Exhibitioncum-Sale in the premises of Odisha Bhawan, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi from 26/09/2017 to 22/10/2017.
The Special Handloom Expo is organized with an objective to showcase and promote different handloom products of the State. There are unique products on display from every corner of the state with collection of Sonpuri, Bomkai, Habaspuri, Kotpad, Tassar, Dongria and Khandua sarees and other products. Besides there are ready to wear garments and home linen collection etc. The art of Handloom weaving is highly evolved and the fabric bear testimony to the artistic ability and tradition of excellent weavers of the State.
During recent years, a number of steps have been taken by Government to fulfill the social and economic commitment towards weavers of Odisha for their sustainable livelihood by providing marketing support in organizing Exhibitions/Expos. In order to create a brand image of Odisha Handwovens, special exhibition-cum-sales are organised by BOYANIKA in different metros including at Delhi. Every year this exhibition is organised twice at New Delhi.
To-day i.e. on 25/09/17 at 4.30 P.M, the Exhibition was inaugurated by Sj.Nikunja Bihari Dhal, IAS, Special Resident Commissioner in presence of Sj.Sanjeeb K. Mishra, IAS, Resident Commissioner, Dr.Trbikram Pradhan, IAS, Addl. Resident Commissioner, Sj.Bishnu Prasad Mishra, OAS (SAG), Managing Director, Boyanika and other officials. Sj. Sesha Kumar Meher, President, Boyanika also graced the occasion.
The exhibition will remain open from 11.00 A.M to 9.00 P.M on all days and special Govt. rebate of 10+20 % is being given to the valued customer on purchase of every handloom product.
The traditional concept of marketing has undergone changes in recent times and BOYANIKA will explore new avenues of marketing during coming years with the valuable suggestions and feedback of esteemed customers and other stakeholders.
