Bhubaneswar: Realising the importance of Intellectual Property Rights(IPR) for the fast growing industrial ecosystem of Odisha, Intellectual Property Facilitation Centre(IPFC) at Institute of
Entrepreneurship Development(IED) Odisha organised a two day seminar on “Role of Intellectual Property Rights for Startups and MSMEs” in Odisha with the help of Cell for IPR Promotion & Management(CIPAM) Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion(DIPP), Govt of India, New Delhi at Intellectual Property Facilitation Centre(IPFC) of IEDO, Bhubaneswar during 5th and 6th September, 2018.
Samarendra Sahoo, CEO, IED in his valedictory address mentioned that IED is marching towards becoming one point destination for the budding entrepreneurs & startups. He also said that IPFC at IED has already started penetration of IPR awareness
among the startups and MSMEs. Siddhanth Chouksey from CIPAM, DIPP, New Delhi told that the IPR awareness amongst the startups, MSMEs & the students have been boosted with the active involvement of Institutions like IPFC. He promised to assist IPFC, IED to conduct more such seminars and workshops for the startups and academia.
It may be mentioned that the programme aimed at facilitating and supporting Startups, MSMEs and Industries Association creating awareness on IPR related issues. The Programme created awareness and the urge for action among the participants to convert and intangible creation of the mind to a tangible asset.
Eminent speakers from CIPAM, NRDC, Startup India, Novel Patent Services delivered very informative talks on various areas related to IPR and answered specific queries from the participants. The participants from industry, academia and professionals
from various domains highly appreciated the efforts by IPFC and rated the Seminar very highly in terms of content, awareness creation and usefulness to the target audience in their feedback.
Others who also spoke on the occasion were Dr Bijay Kumar Sahu, WIPOTISC, Visakhapatnam, Prof. A.K. Panda from STPI, Bhubaneswar & Dr B.K. Bhuyan, IPR Expert, IED, Odisha. At last certificates were distributed to the participants.
