Odisha Govt extended date of voluntary sale of land by residents of Puri for safety of the Jagannath Templetill December 9

Bhubaneswar: The State Government on Tuesday extended the date of voluntary sale of land by residents of Puri for safety of the Jagannath Temple by seven more days till December 9.

A release from Chief Minister’s Office said many residents around the temple have voluntarily accepted the resettlement and rehabilitation policy of the Government and handed over their lands on the request of the Chief Minister. As many as 80 sale deeds have been made for 106 plots, which accounts for 75 per cent of private lands needed in a 75-metre radius around the temple.
