Bhubaneswar: Odisha govt decides to train 7th, 8th & 9th semester MBBS students to deploy them in containment of Covid19 if need arises.

It is necessary to train the medical community; doctors, paramcdics and others who will be involved in thc direct management of thc patients in the COVID hospitals and isolation wards of various health facilities. Considering the naturc of the disease, extreme carc and caution as well as professional approach need to bc adopted. Therefore, it is decided that intensive training of thc personnel in accordance with available protocols will be conductcd. Further, considering the dearth of doctors, it has been decided that the 7., 8. & Semester MIIBS students of all medical colleges will bc trained who could be deployed in case need arises. In the first phase, the training of govt. establishments would bc takcn up. The Private Medical Colleges will also bc required to train the Doctors & students simultaneously.
Smt. Anu Garg, IAS, Principal Secretary, Labour & ESI & W&CD assisted by Shri Bhupendra S. Poonia, IAS will be handling this crucial assignment.
