Bhubaneswar: Odisha Government asked all district Collectors to ensure Aadhaar registrations 95% by June-end. Chief Secretary AP Padhi on Saturday asked all district Collectors to ensure that Aadhaar Cards registered in 95 per cent of the targeted number of people in the State by June-end.
The Chief Secretary issued this direction while chairing a review meeting on priority sector projects with collectors through videoconferencing at the State Secretariat.
It was revealed that a total of 3.97 crore Aadhaar Cards were distributed by May 18 against the target of 4.43 crore. While 98 per cent of people over the age of 18 years have been issued Aadhaar Cards, 77 per cent in the age group of 5-18 years and 56 per cent of children in 0-5 year’s gourp have been issued such cards by now.
