Odisha Govt. Allocates Rs 7.5 Crore to Plant Palm Trees in Bid to Reduce Lightning Deaths

The Odisha government has announced plans to plant 19 lakh palm trees as a measure to mitigate lightning deaths. Under this initiative, four trees will be planted at each of the four sides of every forest block’s boundary pillar across 52 divisions. The government has allocated Rs 7.5 crore for this project aimed at reducing lightning-related fatalities in the state.
