Bhubaneswar: Congress and BJP leaders and workers of Koraput district’s Kotpad Assembly constituency joined the BJD at the Naveen Niwas here on Sunday in the presence of BJD supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
Former Sarpanch Tularam Bhumia and Salim Sira, Samiti Member Baladev Samartha and Ward Membes Sundar Kumbhar and Madhu Bhumia of Kotpad block, Samiti member Debendra Gouda, Naib Sarpanch Indra Nayak, Ward Members Dhaniram Durua and Pusu Durua, former Samiti Member Balaram Bishoyi, former Naib Sarpanch Tila Harijan and many Ward Members of Kundura block joined the BJD. Similarly, Boriguma block’s Sarpanch Niladree Sira, Naib Sarpanch Ratan Majhi, Jamuna Jani, Parshuram Gouda, and Baipariguda block’s Sarpanch Budra Naik, former Sarpanch Hatiram Pujari, Naib Sarpanch Ram Pujari attended the ruling party.
BJD supremo and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik welcomed them to the party and said their joining would strengthen the party in Kotpad and Koraput futher.
Party observer for Koraput Pranab Prakash Das, MP Balabhadra Majhi, district president Ishawr Panigrahi, Khadi Board president Tejeshawr Parida, co-observer Rajendra Acharya, senior leader Narayan Patra, former Koraput ZP President Malati Majhi, KRIt charman Ashok Pangi and BYJD district president Amit Agrawal were present.
