Baripada: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today visits Baripada medical college. During his visit, CM Patnaik directed the District Collector to closely monitor the progress and keep informed .
“This has long been a long cherished dream of the people of Mayurbhanj district and I am happy that it is a reality today,” said CM Patnaik.
“When I took office I realised that for 50 years Odisha has had only 3 Government medical colleges. Even twenty years ago nobody would have believed that medical colleges in Odisha can be set up in far flung areas away from the developed and prominent towns. Today in Mayurbhanj and Koraput, the far north and the far south of Odisha, establishing government medical college is indeed a reality.
It is personally a very happy moment for me and so I made an unscheduled visit to Mayurbhanj today to the upcoming Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical college and Hospital, Baripada to assess firsthand the progress of work there. We are firmly determined to make this medical college a centre of excellence,” said CM Naveen Patnaik.
