Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik to monitor, review credit flow to farmers, SHGs, MSME units

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik through a Video Conference today, appreciated the Banking community for doing great service during the lockdown period risking their lives. He expressed deep condolence to the families of Bankers who lost their lives to Covid serving the people.

Chief Minister while saying that his Government is very serious about restoring economy both at State level and at individual household levels, needed the unstinted support of Bankers in 3 important interventions i.e. credit to farmers, credit to Mission Shakti Self Help Groups and credit to MSMEs.

Chief Minister said that State Government is providing Rs. 600 Crore for interest subvention to facilitate farmers get loan at ‘zero percent’ upto
Rs. 50,000/- and at 2% upto Rs. 3 Lakh. He further said that in case of Women Self Help Groups, the Government is providing 100% interest subvention upto
Rs.3 Lakh making it interest free. Similarly, State has designed some interest subvention to boost the MSME sector. Hon’ble Chief Minister said that he would be closely monitoring credit flow to these crucial sectors and have a district wise review with Collectors and Bankers by the end of November.

Chief Minister announced that best performing banks would be awarded with Chief Minister’s award for Champion banks. The Union Finance Minister would also be informed about the performance.

Chief Secretary Sri Asit Tripathy, Development Commissioner Sri Suresh Chandra Mohapatra, APC Sri Raj Kumar Sharma, Principal Secretary, Finance Sri A.K. Meena, Principal Secretary, Agriculture and Farmers’ Empowerment Dr. Saurabh Garg, Principal Secretary, MSME Sri Satyabrata Sahoo, Director, Mission Shakti, Smt. Sujata Karthikeyan and representatives of Reserve Bank of India along with other Banking organisations were present in the meeting.
