#Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik & Sri Sri Ravi Shankar lay foundation stone of a 300-bedded Ayurvedic hospital

Cuttack:  Sri Sri University hosted an Integrated Health Summit and organized the Inauguration and Foundation Laying Ceremony’Shilanyas’ of Sri Sri College of Ayurvedic Science & Research Hospital on 21st September in the presence of Poojya Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankarji, Founder, Art of living and Life Time President of Sri Sri University.

The Foundation stone Laying Ceremony ‘Shilanyaas’ of Sri Sri College of Ayurvedic Science & Research Hospital was graced by Poojya Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankarji, Founder, Art of living and Sri Sri University, Shri Naveen Patnaik, Hon’ble Chief Minister, Odisha, Shri Naba Kisore Das, Hon’ble Minister, Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of Odisha, Shri Bhartruhari Mahatab, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Cuttack, Odisha, PadmaShri Bharat Bhusan, Dr. Herman De Croo, longest serving Belgian Member of Parliament, Minister of State(for life), Hon’ble Speaker of Life, Shri Lavjibhai Badshah, Founder, Avadh and Gopin Group, Gujarat and Rajita Bagga, President, Sri Sri University and Prof. Ajay Kumar Singh,Vice Chancellor Sri Sri University .
Sri Sri College of Ayurvedic Science & Research Hospital aims at making India a leader in Integrated and Holistic Medicine and reviving the ancient traditional Ayurvedic Sciences. By establishing this Ayurvedic college cum hospital with modern facilities, promoting cutting-edge scientific research, Sri Sri University is all set to bring the best of Eastern wisdom and Western innovation in education and health care.
The university already has started a 20 bedded Ayurveda Hospital and now plans on expanding it to a hospital with provisions of 300 hospital beds by 2020. Sri Sri University also aims at launching an undergraduate program, Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medical Sciences with 100 seats.By 2021 In parallel, it also plans on establishing an Allopathy and Nursing College in the coming years.
Shri Naveen Patnaik addressed the audience and said that Ayurveda’s intrinsic value to the wellness of the body, mind and spirit has now proven to be equally significant to that of modern science. Although Ayurveda is a 5000-year-old tradition, it is now a global trend. He further gave best wishes to the institute for a bright future.
Poojya Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankarji, then enlightened the audience and exclaimed with pride that this university is an oasis of knowledge, wisdom and happiness for the entire world. He also congratulated the entire State Administration for putting in their heart and soul in developing the State and making it reach great heights. He said that this university and its facilities, a centre of excellence will be accessible to the whole world because it works on the principle of ‘One World, One Family’.
Then, Shri Naveen Patnaik and Poojya Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankarji inaugurated the foundation stone of Sri Sri College of Ayurvedic Science and Research Hospital.
The Integrated Health Summit simultaneously was being held in the University where eminent scholars and experts from various fields of health and wellness participated like Shri Naba Kishore Das, Hon’ble Minister, Health and Family Welfare, Govt. of Odisha, Padmashri Bharat Bhusan (Yoga), Dr. Ramesh Bhatt and Dr. N.C. Das (Ayurveda), Dr. V.S. Ramachandra (Allopathy), Dr. Girdhar Gyani (Standardization), Prof. B.R. Sharma (Naturopathy and Yoga), Executive Registrar, Sri Sri University and Mr. Juan Guillon (Osteopathy). Other dignitaries present on the dais were Mr. Lavjibhai Badshah, Founder, Avadh and Gopin Group, Gujrat, Mrs. Rajita Bagga, President, Sri Sri University and Prof. Ajay Kumar Singh, Vice Chancellor, Sri Sri University.
The event started with the lighting of the lamp after which, Padmashri Bharat Bhusan addressed the gathering were he asked everyone to apply Yoga Philosophies and Yoga Practices in their everyday lives to be able to lead a happy, contended life.
Shri Naba Kisore Das advised all the students present to become a good human at heart, respect and love the diverse Indian culture, respect parents and do something constructive for the society at large.
A panel discussion was held on the topic ‘Health Care Systems around the World’. The session focused on discussing the principles and applications by which different streams of medicine can be integrated to provide a comprehensive diagnosis and treatment plan that includes the best of each available, possible medical fields.
