Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik reviewed drought situation in the state in a high-level review meeting . CM Patnaik ordered to take quick action to activate lift irrigation points in areas that witnessed less rainfall this year.
He also stressed on facilitation of water to agricultural lands through canals and advised to ensure abundant work in MGNREGA scheme.
Eleven districts in Odisha have been affected due to scanty rainfall between June and September this year, informed Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Maheswar Mohanty after the meeting.
Patnaik has instructed all district collectors to submit panchayatwari report on the amount of rainfall and crop loss by October 15. Further action will be taken after getting the report.
