Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik holds a conference of the Special Development Council of 9 tribal-dominated districts via video-conferencing at the State Secretariat on Tuesday. CM Naveen Patnaik dedicates different projects (under Special Development Council) in nine districts through video conferencing at Secretariat in Bhubaneswar.
Furthering efforts for development of tribal communities, CM Naveen Patnaik inaugurated 3,000 places of worship & 4,000 Tribal Culture Clubs in nine tribal dominated districts. Preservation and promotion of tribal art & culture continues to be top priority for Odisha.
Special Development Councils were constituted in the nine tribal dominated districts in 2018 to promote tribal art & culture by giving 62 tribal groups & PVTGs greater say in decision-making process. 25,000 Artisan Cards to tribal artisans in the state for ensuring their welfare.
CM Naveen Patnaik inaugurated ₹37.23 Cr drinking water project for Bargarh city of Odisha under BASUDHA scheme. With a treatment capacity 19.50 MLD, the project will supply drinking water to 1,10,000 people in the city and meet potable water requirement for next 15 years. He also inaugurated three bridge projects and two road projects to augment road connectivity in the region. Projects include Barahguda to Sarla Road, Bargarh-Bheden canal at Sahutikra to NH 201 and bridges over Nalia, Khaira and Maltijore.
