Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik flags off OSRTC Air Conditioned Bus Service Rajdhani

Bhubaneswar Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today launched Air Conditioned (Rajdhani) Deluxe Bus Service from Bhubaneswar. Patnaik flagged off the newly launched buses from Paribahan Bhawan here in the capital city.

Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) has introduced 23 new AC Deluxe buses and four VOLVO buses with a cost of Rs 16 crores. The AC Deluxe buses will ply between Bhubaneswar to Phulbani, Rourkela, Bhawanipatna, Bhanjanagar, Rajgangpur (via Sundargarh), Raj Khariar (via Bolangir), Goumasihani (via Karnajia), and Burla (via Sambalpur).

Similarly, the VOLVO buses will help in inter-state commute. It will ferry passengers between Bhubaneswar to Kolkata in West Bengal and Paradip to Vijayawada in Andhra Pradesh.

Apart from full-air-conditioned features, the buses come with free WiFi and mobile charging spots. Besides, the newly-launched vehicles are fitted with CCTV and vehicle tracking devices for real-time monitoring.

The passengers can travel to different cities in the state in these luxurious buses by booking the tickets online from the official website of OSRTC.

At present, the OSRTC has engaged 429 buses for communication between 30 districts of Odisha. Besides, 43 buses are engaged in inter-state road transportation including Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Madhya Pradesh.

Notably, the OSRTC has engaged more buses in the LWE-hit districts of the state. The corporation has taken over the task of building 5 new bus stands in Jeypore, Bolnagir, Angul, Bamra and Odagaon. This apart, the OSRTC will also revamp 25 bus stands across the state and built 50 block-level bus stands.
