Bhubaneswar : In a major breaking, Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik announces special Covid assistance of Rs 6,000 for newspaper hawkers.
A total of 4,300 registered hackers in the state have received Rs 4,000 crore for this assistance. A total of Rs 4.34 crore has been provided. It goes directly to their bank account. “The hackers are a bridge between newspapers and readers,” CM said.
Assistance has also been provided for Rs 2 lakh in case of accidental death, Rs 1 lakh in case of natural death and for those who are completely disabled in the accident. The chief minister also announced that workshops would be set up at the district level to work for the convenience of hackers.
Arrangements have been made to provide Rs 1.5 lakh to the hackers due to accidental disability, Rs 60,000 to the hackers who lost both limbs and Rs 60,000 to the hackers who lost one limb.
The event was attended by Information and Public Relations Minister Shri Raghunandan Das, State Government Media Adviser Shri Manas Mangraj. Chief Minister’s Secretary (5th) Mr. V.K. Pandian hosted the event @ipr_odisha Chief Secretary Shri Vishnupad Sethi delivered the welcome address.
