Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik announces 14-days Mask Abhiyan starting from today

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said that we had taken strict measures during the first wave of Covid. We could save many precious lives for the cooperation of general public and limitless dedication of Covid warriors. We had to resort to frequent lockdowns and shutdowns. People faced many problems due to lockdown, he added.

Chief Minister further said that now the second wave of Covid has started and it is spreading in a big way. Lockdowns, shutdowns and night curfews have been imposed in many States. But we can stop Corona infection without even lockdown if we adhere to the Covid protocols and wear mask properly, he added.

Chief Minister called upon all to start a mask drive unitedly for coming 14 days and appealed all to certainly cover the nose and mouth with mask. He also appealed the mothers to ensure wearing of masks when anybody from family goes outside.

Chief Minister said that Covid cannot enter our home if mothers remain vigilant. Assuring that Government shall watch outside, Hon’ble Chief Minister appealed the mothers to watch households, so that we can avoid lockdown situations. Hon’ble Chief Minister called upon all to fight Covid without lockdown, wearing mask with strong determination.

Chief Minister said that the resurgence of second wave of COVID-19 in the country has once again emerged as a major challenge for all of us. Mentioning that our watchfulness and awareness is the best way to prevent it, Hon’ble Chief Minister called upon to wear masks regularly and strictly adhere to Covid rules to avoid situations like lockdowns in the state.
