It should be noted that nearly 26 CRPF personnel killed and seven were injured in an encounter with Maoists in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma on Monday. The encounter took place at around 12.25pm between the Burkapal-Chintagufa area of the worst Maoist violence-affected district in south Bastar area of the state.
The injured were evacuated by helicopter and CoBRA teams of CRPF were sent as reinforcements and were conducting search operations.
The forces were providing security cover for road construction on Bheji-Gorkha-Injiram Axis area. The Jawans are from the 74th battalion of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).
