Bhubaneswar: Ruling Biju Janata Dal to start Ama Gaon Ama Bikash programme From July 1. This was informed by the Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik at a preparatory meeting here on Saturday ahead of completion of the third year of the BJD Government’s fourth term on Sunday.
Addressing the party leaders Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik said that in 17 years, Odisha has continued its journey of development with self esteem with Lord Jagannath’s blessings. The party has become the centre of hopes and aspirations of four crore Odias.
Patnaik said, “People have strengthened the Biju Janata Dal during different elections. Our aim is to strengthen the bonding between the BJD and the people. For this the district observers and the Ministers in charge of them, would go the districts and hold Extended Executive Meetings along with the district presidents. The success of the Government would be highlighted in workshops there from May 24 to June 30,” he said.
“From July 1, we will start Ama Gaon Ama Bikash programme. For this, the district observers, block observers, MLAs, local leaders and other party functionaries will go to every village of the constituencies. They will hold workshops and sensitise the people about the success stories of the Government. Then, they will form ward committees and submit reports to me by September 30,” said the Chief Minister.
“The commitment of the BJD towards development is known to everyone. Many people are meeting me to join the party. The BJD welcomes Odia intellectuals and professionals to join the party. Some parties believe in spreading false propaganda. But the BJD believes in work. Some parties are keeping Odisha’s interest in the backburner and unnecessarily doing politics,” he said.
