Bhubaneswar: Odisha’s Kalinga Nagar-based Neelachal Ispat Nigam Ltd (NINL) bagged the prestigious Ispat Suraksha Puraskar in the “No fatal Accident for Integrated Steel Plant” category for the fourth consecutive time this year. The award was given by Joint Committee on Safety, Health & Environment in the Steel Industry (JCSSI).
Shri S. Pattnaik, DGM (Sinter Plant) and Shri Kundan Kumar of NINL received the award on behalf of the company in a glittering ceremony held at Ranchi on 16th February, 2018. The award was given to NINL for not reporting a single fatal accident in the plant in 2017. Shri S.S. Mohanty Vice-Chairman & MD, NINL, congratulated and said, “The award reflects the commitment of NINL collective towards making the plant zero accident zone and the company’s strict adherence to the safety standards.”
JCSSI is a national level apex bi-partite forum of management & trade union representatives from public and private sector steel companies. The apex body conducts ‘Ispat Suraksha Award’ to recognize safety performance of the various organisations.
