Bhubaneswar: Yoga has gone truly global. Indian yoga teachers are in great demand. Odisha is also attracting international attention in yoga. Recently Dr. Dinesh Prasad Swain and Dr. Prativa Shree of Sri Sri University’s Faculty of Yogic Science, have been invited as resource persons to Mahidol University, a leading and the prestigious public university of Thailand to conduct theory & practical classes for students and participants studying Yoga, Naturopathy and Ayurveda.
Research Institute for Languages and Cultures of Asia (RILCA) of the Mahidol University is conducting a programme on ‘Yogic Science and Ayurveda’. Both Professors from Sri Sri University presented a series of lectures on Yoga Philosophy and also trained the students of the course in different yogic asana and meditative practices.
Students who come from different countries like China, Vietnam, Thailand, India, etc highly appreciated the technique and yogic pedagogy of both professors.
Both Prof Swain and Prof Prativashree have been trained in the Bihar Yoga Bharati (BYB) tradition from Munger and now working at the Sri Sri Ravi Shankar founded and Art of Living promoted Sri Sri University at Cuttack.
Both of them are among the very few in India who have obtained doctoral degrees in yogic studies and as an acknowledgement to their accomplishments, Odisha Government has invited them to write books on yoga for school students. As co-authors, they have written a book entitled – ‘Yoga O Yoga Vigyana’ on behalf of Madhyamik Sikshya Board, Government of Odisha and as the state resource persons, they have trained sports teachers of Odisha coming from 30 districts.
