NTPC Talcher Kaniha volunteers support for Covid-19 to help needy persons

Kaniha: As the nation continues to suffer under the grip of Covid-19, officials of NTPC Talcher Kaniha have come together to volunteer relief contributions for needy persons in the vicinity of the Station. Members of a Task Force, constituted to fight against the spread of the pandemic and implement various health advisories of the Government, volunteered in large numbers to reach out to 1000 needy families in nearby villages namely Mankediasahi ,Labour Colony Samal Baragge & needy villagers.

The Task Force members visited and distributed various grocery items like rice, pulses, vegetables, etc. along with essential sanitary items like soap and detergent. NTPC officials also appealed to the people to ensure proper sanitation and hand-washing as a topmost priority to keep diseases at bay.

Members of the Task Force also approached senior citizens and old women who are dependent for support. It has been further decided in the Task Force Committee meeting to extend support to daily wagers who have lost their livelihoods after the onset of this pandemic and subsequent lockdown. NTPC Talcher Kaniha will continue to reach out to those in need of help and support through various contributions and similar relief efforts.
