Bhubaneswar: Manage Autism Now (MAN) Trust celebated Annual Day of Autism Therapy Centre (ATC) in Bhubaneswar to boost awareness on Autism.
A Seminar cum Panel discussion and Quiz competition was organised where more than 40 teachers from different schools participated. The session was presided over by Dr. Nalini Menon, Director, Rainbow Centre for ASD, Spastic Society of Karnataka, Bangaluru. Dr. Ipsita, Department of Psychiatry, AIIMS, Bhubanrswar and Dr. Amit Satapathy, Department of Paediatrics, AIIMS, Bhubaneswar was also present.
Smt Swarnalata Misha, Chairman Trust said said, “Autism is a hidden disability as people cannot see it so we have decided to hold this convivial discussion on the occasion of annual day of ATC to help raise more awareness and help people to understand”.
Mr. Nitin Chandra,I.A.S., Principal Secretary to the Government of Odisha, Department of Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Dr. Prakash Sarang, Vice Chancellor, Revenshaw University , Maj. Gen. B. K. Mohapatra, Chaiman, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, Bhubaneswar Centre and Sri Satakadi Hota, President, Executive Body, ATC attended the function and discussed with students on the importance of autism awareness.
