Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that measures like lockdown are the last option to prevent Corona infection. This is an unprecedented crisis. Necessary arrangements for treatment of patients and prevention of Corona infection are being made. In a discussion with media representatives after planting saplings in Smart Park, Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that in view of the alarming rise in Corona infection, it is necessary to impose a lockdown in all cities of the state from 6 pm Friday to 6 am Monday. Instructions have been given to all officers in this regard. Crisis Management Groups of all the districts have been instructed to hold meetings immediately to make necessary and appropriate decisions in view of the patient load and circumstances in their districts. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that in view of the situation of Corona infection, containment areas will also be made in big cities where necessary.
No dearth of oxygen supply
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that along with these measures, the state government is also constantly working on the expansion of the system of treatment. The number of beds in the state is being increased from 36 thousand to one lakh. Covid care centers are being set up in each district. Cooperation of private hospitals along with government hospitals is also being sought. The state government is also arranging free treatment in private hospitals. Arrangements are being made in Peoples Hospital and J.K. Hospital in Bhopal. Instructions regarding use of capacity of private hospitals in Indore and other cities too have been given. There is no dearth of oxygen supply. Discussion regarding oxygen has been held with the Government of India and the state of Gujarat. The supply of oxygen from Bhilai Steel Plant has started. Procurement of Remdesivir injection is also being started at the government level. Adequate arrangements are being made to ensure that there is no shortage of medicines.
This is the time for test, we will fight together and succeed.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that this is a pandemic, of which any assessment at this juncture is not possible. The number of positive patients is increasing in the country and the state. It is necessary to maintain patience, tolerance and self-confidence. The state government will face this crisis along with everyone. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan said that after video conferencing of the Prime Minister, I will hold a video conference with the Collectors and Superintendents of Police of all the districts of the state. Discussions will be held with Cabinet colleagues on April 9 at 3 pm and all MPs and MLAs of the state at 5 pm. A strategy for the battle against Corona will be developed by taking everyone into confidence. It is a testing time, we will fight together and succeed.
Maintain self discipline
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan has appealed to the people of the state to use masks while maintaining self-discipline, social distancing, washing hands frequently, not going out of the house unnecessarily and not forming crowds.
Chief Minister Shri Chouhan reviewed the condition of Corona in the state at a high level meeting held at his residence before planting saplings. Chief Secretary Shri Iqbal Singh Bains, Director General of Police Shri Vivek Johri, Additional Chief Secretary Health Shri Mohammad Suleman, Additional Chief Secretary Home Shri Rajesh Rajaura and Bhopal Divisional Commissioner Shri Kavindra Kiyawat and officers of Bhopal district were present.
