Angul: The Jindal Steel and Power Ltd. (JSPL) rolled out several initiatives for the 48thSafety Week celebration today. The programme was inaugurated this morning with hoisting of Safety Flag by Executive Director (Maintenance) Mr. Suresh Kumar. He assured the gathering about Management’s commitment for ensuring Health, Safety and Well-being of employees and advised everyone to identify and correct the unsafe act and risky conditions, if any, at any workplace.
On this occasion Mr. Damodar Mittal, EVP & Factory Manager, congratulated all the employees for achieving the record production in last few months without any mishap and he emphasized on continuing such efforts with each passing day.
Speaking on this occasion Mr. Ravi Kant Somani, Group Head (Occupational Health & Safety) gave importance for safety practices and congratulated the winners of Safe Workman, Safe Executive, Safe Contractor and Safe Departments for abiding the safety norms to its fullest and for giving their best safety performances.
Mr. B.P.Singh, GM-Safety briefed about different safety activities, including awareness programmes and safety competitions, to be taken up during this 48th National Safety Week celebration.
This programme was attended by Mr. Arvind Bhagat (HOD-Blast Furnace), Mr. Brij Badhadra (HOD-Sinter plant), Mr. Yogesh Patel (HOD-Plate & Bar Mill), Mr. Rama Kant Gupta (HOD-Power plant), Mr. Khilawan R. Sahu (HOD-Utility), Mr. Navin Gautam (GM-Safety) along with other HODs, Employees, Contractors and their workers. All the members present took the safety oath, reiterating their commitment to obey the safety norms in their day to day life and at their respective work places.
