Bhubaneswar: In a joint eviction drive by the enforcement squads of the Bhubaneswar Smart City Limited (BSCL), Bhubaneswar Development Authority and Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation, land to provide space for approach road and drain near the multi-level car parking (MLCP) at Saheed Nagar was cleared today. In this drive, while 20 make-shift shops were demolished, an Odisha Poultry Federation (OPOLFED) outlet was given ultimatum to relocate as soon as possible.
This eviction drive will help in better circulation of vehicles on the front portion of the MLCP Saheed Nagar. It can be mentioned here that the MLCP building in Saheed Nagar is envisaged as a high-rise building with five floors of car parking and three floors of commercial area.
The car parking building shall have lower and upper basement, and ground and above two floors that will accommodate minimum 250 four wheelers of equivalent car spaces (ECS) in an area of 1,00,149 square feet. All the floors above the parking floors shall be commercial floors covering an area of 38,128 square feet of leasable space. The building will have all the Smart features such as sensor-based parking, Wi-Fi, and building management system applications.
The eviction carried out with the order of the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of BSCL Sri Sanjay Kumar Singh, was coordinated by GM Smart City Kamaljit Das. BMC Assistant Commissioner (Enforcement) Lilan Prasad Sahoo and Assistant Manager (Civil) Ranjan Kumar Das from Smart City were present during the enforcement drive. The regular evictions carried out by BSCL and BMC along the ABD area in the city is now helping the Smart City projects to run smoothly and expeditiously.
The MLCPs at Saheed Nagar and Rajmahal Square respectively, will help decongest the busy city roads in peak traffic hours. Both the two MLCPs can help to accommodate nearly 750 cars in near future.
