Jio surpasses 50% revenue market share mark in Odisha in Q3 AGR

Bhubaneswar: Continuing its revenue leadership in Odisha, Reliance Jio has achieved over 50% revenue market share in terms of adjusted gross revenue (AGR) in Odisha in the quarter ending December 2018, as per the recent quarterly financial report published by Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) for all telecom service providers.

In the quarter ending 31st December 2018, adjusted gross revenue of Reliance Jio in Odisha telecom circle stood at Rs. 303.19 crores followed by Rs. 178.72 crores of Bharti Airtel, Rs. 70.29 crores of Vodafone Idea, Rs. 46.52 cores of BSNL and Rs. 5.37 cores of Tata Teleservices. While Jio registered a growth of around 3.6% in AGR in Odisha in this quarter, both Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea witnessed decline in AGR in comparison to the previous quarter.

In gross revenue, Jio has also extended its lead over other operators by achieving Rs. 371.11 crores gross revenue in Q3. This was followed by Rs. 343.40 crores of Airtel, Rs. 128.65 crores of Vodafone Idea, Rs. 49.51 crores of BSNL and Rs. 9.81 crores of Tata Teleservices in the same period. It is worth mentioning here that Reliance Jio had surpassed Bharti Airtel in terms of Gross Revenue in Odisha for the first time in last quarter ending September 30, 2018.

Nationally Jio has topped revenue market share in Q3 in terms of adjusted gross revenue surpassing Vodafone Idea and Bharti Airtel. Among the 22 telecom circles, Jio has achieved No. 1 position in 13 circles while reaching No. 2 in 8 other circles in AGR in this quarter, as per the TRAI financial report for Q3 FY19.

As per the latest mobile subscriber data released by TRAI as on December 31, 2018, Reliance Jio has 80.8 lakhs mobile subscribers in Odisha whereas Airtel had 1.31 crore subscribers, Vodafone Idea 58.86 lakhs, BSNL 55.27 lakhs and Tata Teleservices 5.27 lakhs in the state. Adding over 3.13 lakh new subscribers, Jio was the only telecom service provider in Odisha to achieve ned addition of subscribers in the month of December 2018, said the report.
