Bhubaneswar: iInstitute of Media Studies (IMS) and Kalinga Media Centre (KMC) are jointly organising a three-day International Conference on Indian Trade and Commerce (ICITC): Past, Present and Future from 17 to 19 March, 2018 on Regional Institute of Education (RIE) campus, Bhubaneswar. Similarly, national repute research organizations like ICHR and ICSSR have been associated with the event as academic partners.
The conference will be inaugurated by Hon’ble Minister of Excise and Finance Shri Sashi Bhusan Behera as chief guest in presence of Hon’ble Minister of MSME, W&CD and Mission Shakti Shri Prafulla Samal and Hon’ble MP Lok Sabha Bhartruhari Mahtab. Former vice-chancellor of Utkal University of Culture Prof. Dr. Amiya Patnaik will preside over the inaugural ceremony.
The objective of the conference is to celebrate India’s rich heritage in trade and commerce, share knowledge to strengthen global trade environment, strive to preserve and revitalize maritime trade and promote diversified business in international trade. The conference will bring together leading academicians, researchers and scholars in the field of culture, history and commerce. While several scholars, experts and researchers across the SAARC countries including Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will share their thoughts at the three-day conference, more than 300 delegates will attend the meet.
Besides cultural exchange and ceremonial programmes, one of the major attractions would be the plenary and technical sessions where more than 50 research scholars and academicians from various countries will read out their intellectual papers. It would provide a platform to discuss, debate, exchange ideas and viewpoints leading to a better understanding of Indian trade and commerce, carrying forward the essence and securing its future.
