India Today Safaigiri 2017: Bhumi Pednekar on Toilet Ek Prem Katha and breaking stereotypes in Bollywood

New Delhi : She is only three films old in Bollywood but her film choices have already earned her much recognition in the film industry. Be it Toilet Ek Prem Katha or Shubh Mangal Saavdhan or Dum Laga Ke Haisha, Bhumi Pednekar has proved her versatility with each of her films. At India Today Safaigiri 2017, Bhumi talked about her journey in Bollywood, Toilet Ek Prem Katha and cleanliness.
“I think Safaigiri and our relationship has already begun, and in some years, our love story will be complete. It is necessary to being change at an individual level. I am glad the kind of steps that government has taken for cleanliness is helping us move towards a better India,” she said.
When any newcomer would look for a glamorous role in her first film, Bhumi did not hesitate to put on 27 kgs for her first film. She continued breaking the stereotype with each passing film. “I have been able to break the stereotype in Bollywood about the heroines. I got the chance to be a YRF heroine, but it was nothing like the glamorous heroines on the big screen,” added Bhumi.
