IMFA Ladies’ Club distributed sweets, bed sheets & teaching learning(TL) materials to the inmates of Seba Samaj orphanage

Report by Badal Tah, Rayagada: On the eve of Pongal & Makar Sankranti, IMFA Ladies’ Club, Therubali under the leadership of its President Smt K. Malleswari distributed sweets, bed sheets & teaching learning(TL) materials to the inmates of Seba Samaj orphanage near Koraput Chowk at Rayagada. “More than these token donations, which we collected from the members of the Ladies Club at IMFA, Therubali, our prime motto was to have a direct interface with these destitute girls as mothers and sisters and to empathise with them. On important occasions, these children must daughterly with mothers’ love. We all the members of the Ladies Club have done our bit to shed our love as mothers and sisters as we understand the pain of being destitutes, more so in case of girls. We will love continue our association with institutions like this”, said Smt Malleswari.

Sri Jayaram Jena, mentor of this orphanage & a Gandhian in his eighties, thanked Smt Malleswari and all the members of the Ladies Club for extending their kind support and exhibiting the concern towards these have-nots. Sri Badal Kumar Tah, a senior scribe and social worker, joining as a guest on the occasion, spoke about the social responsibility of the Ladies club. May be, this is the first time ever the Ladies Club of a Corporate has gone beyond its traditional role and worked for a social cause. Other corporate entities having their women wings must initiate such measures, opined Tah.

Sri Sakti Panigrahi, Senior Manager, IMFA coordinated the programme. Sri Laxmidhar Mishra, Sri Ajay Kumar Singh and others from IMFA cooperated in the distribution. Sri Gopinath Gouda, a young budding press reporter, alongwith social activists Sri Ajay Rath, Sri Rabindra Patakhandal, Sri Manoj Patra, Sri Anshuman Panigrahi also helped organising this event. Sri Sakti extended vote of thanks.
