Bhubaneswar: Indian Metrological Department (IMD) on Sunday forecast moderate to heavy rainfall and thundershowers in the next 48 hours as the cyclonic circulation in the southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining regions was gaining strength.
Due to the cyclonic circulation, coastal and northern Odisha is expected to witness heavy rain accompanied by strong gusty winds and moderate lightning strikes in the next couple of days.
Moreover, clouding is likely to increase along with a rise in temperature between October 17 and 18. Besides after October 19, rainfall over the areas may increase. The sea conditions will remain rough during this period so the fishermen have been advised not to venture into the sea.
