Hyderabad: Activating millions of customers since launch of Activa in 2001, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India Pvt. Ltd. (HMSI) today announced that its cumulative sales have crossed the momentous 25 lac units mark in Telangana.
With increasing demand for personal mobility, Honda sold more than 1 lac scooters in the state between April and November 2020. Interestingly, while scooters contribution in All-India two-wheeler industry stands at 29%, it has increased to 33% in the progressive state of Telangana.
Led by Activa, Honda dominates the demand with 72% market share in the scooter segment. The legendary Activa continues to be the Highest selling 2Wheeler of Telangana. Overall, Honda’s trust and leadership further strengthened in Telangana with 38% market share. This implies that every 3rd customer in the region is riding home on a Honda 2Wheeler.
While it took Honda 14 years to add the first 10 lac customers in Telangana (2001 – 2014), the next 15 lac customers have joined the growing Honda family in just a little over 6 years.

When it comes to scooters, every 3rd scooter customer in Telangana trusts only Honda. Marking a strong presence across the state are over 219 Honda touchpoints (both dealerships and authorized service centers). As more customers enquire online for bookings, Honda dealerships across the state are now bringing contactless customer experience, online booking and services like home test rides etc. for added safety and convenience of customers.
