Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages conducts a special event at its Khurda factory to mark the women’s month celebration

Khurda: Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB), one of India’s top FMCG companies, is extending the international women’s day celebrations through a month long nation-wide campaign that focuses on gender equality between men and women. As part of the initiative, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages held a special event at Khurda near Bhubaneswar, where its factory is located. Titled as #MenAsAllies, the event was held with an aim to translate the idea behind the recently launched corporate initiatives by HCCB for its employees, which celebrate diversity and inclusion at workplace, at the grassroots and local community level.

Among other initiatives, a speed mentoring session for all women in attendance focusing on career path, skills to be developing, overcoming mental barriers, challenging societal stereotypes and so on was the highlight of the celebration. The event was attended by the women workforce representing different functions at the Khurda factory. The women employees were gratified with flowers and chocolates as a sign of appreciation for all their contributions.
Highlighting the significance of the initiative, Mr. G Ganesh, Factory Manager,KhurdaFactory, HCCB, said, “It gives us immense pleasure to be conducting this event that celebrates our women workforce. Women at our factory are empowered to work across different roles that are at par with the men. Our aim is to extend this culture to include the local community and make them part of the larger goal which it to ensure gender equality and diversity.”

This event comes close on the heels of the recent major initiatives – ‘Maternity Support Programme’, ‘Back to Work Programme for Women’ and ‘Women’s Network’ which were announced at the company’s headquarters in Bengaluru.

The Maternity Programme is aimed at providing all necessary support including medical advice and counselling to both men and women employees. The programme provides for planned interventions by experts, managing pre and post-delivery changes and back-to-work preparation allowing them to seamlessly join the work back. The Back to Work Programme is designed to help women on a career break make a gradual transition back into the corporate workspace. The company also plans to provide a six month of internship to these women to help them acquire necessary skillsets and regain their confidence before they are inducted into the workforce. Besides, HCCB also announced the launch of Women’s Network Programme, which is created as a platform for all working women to come together and help each other in all matters, both personal as well as professional.
