Shimla: Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur while interacting with the beneficiaries of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gramin Kaushal Yojna, here today and said that Centre Government has launched this scheme to train rural poor youth besides providing them appropriate employment opportunities so that they could earn their livelihood honourably. He said that free training was being imparted under the Scheme besides free hostel facility. He said that under this scheme, trainings under different trades such as beautician, tailoring, storage operator, Spa, etc. were being imparted to the desired candidates who gets themselves registered on website www.kaushalpanjee.nic.in
Jai Ram Thakur said that 5320 youth have been provided training under the scheme till now out of which 3021 youths had been given employment. He said that a target to train 22000 youth had been fixed under Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gramin Kaushal Yojna during year 2019-23. He directed the officers to publicise this scheme more effectively so that maximum rural youth could avail benefit of this scheme.
Chief Minister also released a monthly magazine of National Rural Livelihood Mission under Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Department which would be distributed upto panchayat level to generate awareness amongst the stakeholders.
Jai Ram Thakur distributed t-shirts, caps and masks to about 50 beneficiaries as token of felicitation on the occasion and gave them wishes for their bright future.
The beneficiaries of Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Gramin Kaushal Yojna also shared their experiences with the Chief Minister on the occasion.
Secretary Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Sandeep Bhatnagar, Director Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Rugved Thakur, Chief Executive Officer Himachal Pradesh State Rural Livelihood Mission Anil Sharma, Chief Operating Officer of Deen Dayal Upadhayaya Gramin Kaushal Yojna Hitender Sharma and other senior officers were also present on the occasion.
