District mineral Foundation approves 7.5 cr rupees to fight Carona decease in Kendujhar district

Report by Malaya Mohapatra; Kendujhar: The District mineral Foundation has approved 7.5 crore rupees to be spent from its funds to combact Covid 19. In order to effectively prevent and contain COVID-19 pandemic in Keonjhar district, an ‘Emergency COVID Fund’ of Rs. 1 Cr has been released from DMF to the Chief District Medical & Public Health Officer (CDM&PHO) for undertaking activities like upgradation of health facilities and services in PHCs, CHCs, SDHs and DHH, establishment of quarantine/isolation facilities, provision of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for healthcare workers, hiring of additional paramedic staff as per need , training and capacity building of staff etc.
In addition to this, Rs. 3 Cr has been released to the Block Development Officers (BDOs) and Rs. 2.25 Cr to Executive Engineers of Works Department (R&B) towards the up gradation of infrastructure in PHCs, CHCs, SDHs & DHH.Further, Rs. 25 lakhs has been released to each Municipality and Rs. 15 lakh to NAC, Champua in order to improve sanitation efforts in their respective areas.
