Bhubaneswar: Devotees make beeline in front of different Shiva shrines across the state to worship the Lord Shiva on the auspicious day of Mahashivratri. All the Shiva shrines decked up for Mahashivratri .
The shrines like Lingaraj temple in Bhubaneswar, Chandrasekhar temple at Kapilash in Dhenkanal, Gupteswar temple in Koraput, Ladu Baba temple in Nayagarh, Akhandalamani in Bhadrak and Loknath in Puri witnessed huge crowd on Wednsday. The state administration has made elaborate arrangement at all these shrines as devotees are expected to visit the place on Mahashivratri. Electricity, sanitation and water supply facilities have been put in place for visitors at all these Shiva shrines. Similarly, security has been beefed up to maintain law and order. Vehicular traffic has been regulated from Tuesday with adequate parking facilities.
A national-level bhajan samaroha and cultural mahotsav of Lord Shri Lingaraj will be held at the Bhajan Mandap in front of Lord Lingaraj Temple on February 14, 2017 on the auspicious occasion of Mahashivratri. Renowned singer Aditya Narayan and Anup Jalota along with his team would showcase their brilliant performances during the festival. Other eminent singers of Odisha will also participate in the programme. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and other eminent personalities to grace the occasion .
