Bhubaneswar, March 8: Taking some time off from their busy schedule, 15 participants from the on-going Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) International Trade Fair in the city at the Exhibition Grounds, today visited the historic monuments in the Old Town area as part of a special heritage walk.
All the participants were extremely happy during their visit and expressed their willingness to visit Odisha from time to time as for them the land remains an unforgettable destination of monuments, sea, sand, wildlife, nature and dances.
Farid Eskafi, a participant at the walk, said “I am extremely happy to be in this historic city and discovering its beautiful monuments and green surrounding. The temple architecture is wonderful and unique.’’
Sayed Amir, another visitor of today’s special Ekamra Walks (Old Town Circuit) was happy that the monuments dating back from 7th Century to 15th Century are beautifully preserved and many are still being used as living sites.
Zarin Bastain and Vahid Taherkhani, who took part in the special walk, were mesmerised with the concept and design of the medicinal plant garden Ekamra Van, on the western bank of Bindusagar. “We love the way the laterite stones are designed with a beautiful landscape and the rare and endangered plants added to the spread. The concept of having plants for men, women and kids is also very unique,’’ they observed.
It can be noted here that 35 delegates are taking part at the MSME International Reade Fair at Exhibition Ground, which was inaugurated by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on March 5. Delegates have come from Germany, Korea, Iran and Bangladesh. There are 350 stalls in six pavilions including 30 start-ups, international organisations, industry associations, export houses, state PSUs and Central Government organisations.
The international trade fair is having a central theme on food processing sector. Currently Odisha is having 3.12 lakh MSMEs with an investment of around Rs 15,300 crores and employment of 13 lakh individuals. From the food processing sector only there are 70 participants and from engineering, chemicals and plastic sectors there are 50 participants at the event.
