Bhubaneswar: Cyclone Bulbul Triggers Heavy Rainfall In Odisha, Gusty Wind Uproots Trees. With wind speed slowly gaining momentum, power supply in several pockets have been disrupted due to snapping of electricity cables.

The Cyclonic Storm Bulbul stationed at 120km from #Paradip . HeavyRains reported from Paradip, Kendrapara and Balasore. In the last 24 hours, Paradip recorded 159 mm rainfall, followed by Chandbali (143 mm) & Balasore (30 mm).

It will take another 4-5 hours for Cyclone Bulbul to cross Odisha Coast. Speed of the storm has declined. 1,000 people moved to safety”says SRC PK Jena. 350 people evacuated in #Jagatsinghpur & 311 evacuated in #Balasore; more people will be evacuated, if required, informs SRC

Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy arrives at Regional Meteorological Centre; reviews rainfall situation triggered by Cyclone Bulbul . Held discussion with Met Chief. “No reports of any casualties or damage to houses yet. Only trees were uprooted in Jagatsinghpur and Kendrapara due to the cyclonic storm. We are monitoring the situation”, says Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy.

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued rainfall warning for #Odisha, West Bengal, Mizoram, Tripura, Assam & Meghalaya for 9th and 10th November in view of the very severe cyclonic storm #Bulbul.
