Bhubaneswar: Strong winds, heavy downpour pummel #Odisha as Super Cyclone Amphan trudges along the coastal parts of the State towards West Bengal-Bangladesh. Paradip recording wind speed of 110 kmph & has the potential to rise up to 145 kmph. Cyclone warning signal number 8 hoisted in the area says Paradip Port authorities. Paradip recorded the highest rainfall of 180.1 mm in the State by 5.30 am today; here is the latest station observations of wind speed & rainfall in the State by IMD in connection with Super Cyclonic Storm .
“Intense spell of rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places of districts of Puri, Khurda, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Kendrapara, Jajpur and Bhadrak between 5.30 am to 7.30 am today,” said Bhubaneswar Met Centre.
Amphan Cyclone is about 125 km South-Southeast of Paradip, 240 km South of Digha & 395 km SW of Khepupara.
Wind speed: Paradip- 106 kmph, Bhubaneswar- 56 kmph
Rainfall: Paradip- 197.1, Chandbali- 60.4, Bhubaneswar- 45.6
