Bhubaneswar: “Odisha is marching ahead based on transparency, technology and a robust ecosystem of inclusive employment and development, “Mr Naveen Patnaik, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Odisha said while delivering the inaugural address at the 22nd Enterprise Odisha 2019 organized by CII and the Government of Odisha in Bhubaneswar today. speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister of Odisha emphasized on the exemplary work done by his government in terms of inclusive employment, developing of industrial infrastructure and the success story of “Skill Odisha” initiative which has enhanced employability of the youth manifold. Mr Patnaik also outlined the focus of the “Startup Odisha” initiative and said that his team has targeted to have 150 startups in the state by 2020. Speaking on firming up a vision document on mineral and metals production, Mr Naveen Patnaik called for all stakeholders and the people of Odisha to “work together” to build “a robust industrial ecosystem.”
Speaking at the occasion as the Guest of Honour, Capt. Dibya Shankar Mishra, Hon’ble Minister of Industries, MSME, Energy and Home, Government of Odisha stressed that sheer hard work, effort, transparency in governance, a dedicated team, the people of Odisha and the charismatic leadership of the Chief Minister have come together to put Odisha prominently on the Indian map. He lauded the industry leaders for engaging with the state and reiterated that the Government of Odisha is committed to providing a “good life to all in an inclusive manner.”
Mr Hemant Sharma, Commissioner cum Secretary, Department of Industries and MSME, Government of Odisha said in his address that 19 of the investments committed at “Make in Odisha 2018” are in various stages of implementation which goes a long way to say how Odisha has come up prominently in the Indian industrial geography. Mr Sharma added that the Enterprise Odisha showcases the industry and entrepreneurship of the state and it also shows what more the government needs to do to attract more investments. The Commissioner cum Secretary, Department of Industries and MSME, Government of Odisha said that Odisha has become a leader in successfully matchmaking the industry requirements with skilled personnel through its flagship skilling initiative.
Mr Rahul Sharma, CEO, Vedanta Alumina Ltd spoke about the high state GSDP and hoped that Odisha can become an Australia of India for mining space as it has excellent industrial infrastructure, locational and natural reserve advantages. He said that the state can look at fruitful engagements with committed partners for responsible mining and unveil a new era of growth in the state.
The inaugural session saw the release of the CII Report on Industry 4.0 in Mining & Metals. Spread over 20,000 sqm, Enterprise Odisha-2019 is the largest cross-sector exhibition of the state showcasing a huge diversity of industries across the state. This year the focus sectors are Metal, Minerals and Power, Textile, Food Processing, Chemicals & Petrochemicals. It is also showcasing a wide range of industrial and construction equipment, IT Services, Education, Real estate, Automobile incorporating the latest technologies and methods of production. There are 200 stalls in the show and 150 companies are participating.
The Odisha Mining Show (OMS) is a maiden one and Yi Innovex is aimed at creating a sustainable impact in the state by fostering the spirit of innovation in young minds, showcasing and celebrating innovation and mentorship and scaling up entrepreneurship. Along with the exhibition, the Enterprise would be hosting B2G Sessions from 14 to 16 November 2019. Various eminent speakers have been invited to discuss on engaging issues like ” Ease of Doing Business”, ”Alternative Avenues of financing for MSME”, ” Employable Human Capital” and ”Technology, Innovation and Safety in Mining”.
