Bhubaneswar: Regular activities and going on digitization as well as conservation works implemented in Odisha State Archives have been appreciated by the Central team. A delegation led by Sri Pritam Singh, Director General National Archives and Special
Secretary, Govt of India along with his Deputy Secretary Mr. M.A. Haque visited the State Archives and discussed different programme implementations.
They expressed satisfaction over Digitization and Conservation works in addition smooth running of Library and Record Centre. The team assured to provide more central grant under
their head for such activities in the archives. The team also had informal interaction with some scholars and cultural historians while Sri Manoranjan Panigrahi, Commissioner-cum-Secretary, Odia Language, Literature and Culture Department presented an elaborate report card regarding the Archives. Among others, eminent hisotrians Prof. C. P. Nanda, Archaeologist Dr. B. K. Rath, Jeevan Pattnaik of ASI, Rabindra Behera of NIC, Dr Jayanti Rath, Superintendent, State Museum, Lalatendu Das Mohapatra of Regional Archives, Dr Jyotsna Sahoo of Sambalpur University, Mrs S. Satapathy, Joint Secretary, Govt of Odisha and Mrs Suchismita Mantri, Superintendent State Archives were also present during the visit.
