Bus, train service resumed in #Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The bus and train service that had remained suspended for the Covid-19 lockdown from March resumed on Monday.

The OSRTC engaged 96 buses on 66 routes across the State. As many as 96 buses connecting 22 towns have started plying. More buses and routes would be added later, OSRTC CMD Arun Bothra said.

“No standing passengers will be allowed to travel in the buses. Wearing of masks will be compulsory for all the commuters. No one would be allowed to board the bus without a mask, Bothra added.

Similarly, special trains started operations on the Bhubaneswar-Brahmapur, Bhubaneswar-Bhadrak, Bhubaneswar-Balangir, Sambalpur-Khordha Road, Bhubaneswar-Koraput via Sambalpur and Bhubaneswar-Rourkela routes. Tickets for these special trains are available on passenger reservation system counters at different railway stations. Passengers can also book ticket through online on IRCTC website. Persons with confirmed tickets would only be allowed to board the train, said the ECoR.

While Bhubaneswar-Koraput train running via Sambalpur, Titlagarh and Rayagada would operate three days a week, the rest special trains would run from Monday to Friday.
