New Delhi: Biju Janata Dal MPs from Odisha in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha on Thursday met Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for the second time and requested to release to Odisha the pending basic and performance grants in respect of 114 ULBs.
The BJD delegation included Prasanna Acharya, Amar Patnaik, Sarojini Hembram and Sasmit Patra.
Sources said that the BJD MPs requested to release to Odisha the pending basic and performance grants in respect of 114 ULBs arising out of 14th Finance Commission recommendations amounting to around Rs. 700 crore immediately as the matter is pending for the last 4 years now.
