Bhubaneswar: Biju Janata Dal likely to join federal alliance, K Chandrashekhar Rao to meet Odisha CM Naveen Patnaik over this issue. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao would visit Odisha in the first week of May and meet his counterpart and Biju Janata Dal (BJD) supremo Naveen Patnaik to hold discussions on the developments in national politics.
Rao would first visit the Jagannath Temple in Puri and then call on Patnaik. The meeting of two leaders is expected to be a significant development to form a Third Front ahead of the 2019 general elections as their respective parties have been maintaining equidistance from the BJP and the Congress.
Significantly, Rao had met West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in Kolkata in March to discuss about a federal alliance ahead of the 2019 polls.
